Hands Across the Sand started in 2010 to take a stand against off-shore oil drilling and other fossil fuels that are destroying our Oceans. Started in Florida, Hands Across the Sand is now a worldwide movement. It’s dirty! It’s dangerous! New offshore drilling is #NotTheAnswer.
Global climate change effects everyone so we all stand together.
As a group Surfrider headed to Pompano Beach to make a stand. The goal was to bring together people who love our ocean and to share with those on the beach to get off their towels and take a stand with them. Thousands of people along Florida coasts stood up yesterday to say no to oil drilling and fracking and to speak out against this looming threat to the Atlantic coast.
