October is truly a month of Radness in Deerfield Beach. Join Island Water Sports as we help South Florida skateboarding family, the Hager’s, and Grind or Life fight cancer on October 21st at Daytime Radness.
During the month we will have tons of ways to get involved from volunteering to becoming a sponsor. Join IWS as we raise funds at the Road to Radness skateboarding qualifier contest at Ramp 48 on October 15th. Or, jump on another kind of board that night and Stand Up and Paddle for Cancer as part of our full moon paddle board tour.
If you have yet to join Island Camps for a full moon SUP tour, then this is a must do! Our tour guides have years of experience and give you a true South Florida experience. As you paddle through the waterways of beautiful Deerfield Beach and Boca Raton, you will enjoy making new friends and see why South Florida is called the “Venice of America.”
Stand Up and Paddle for Cancer
You will truly be paddling for a great cause. This month full moon paddle profits will help provide financial relief for a South Florida family who is fighting cancer.
Our tours fill up quickly, so register in advance. Due to the popularity of this event, we have added tan additional night. Our first tour will take place Saturday, October 15th with a second tour will take place on Sunday, October 16th.
With Sullivan park under construction, we have rerouted and extended our tours. Participants meet at Island Water Sports at 6:30pm to register. Instructors will gather the group in front of the store at 7pm to give group instruction. We will then carpool to the launch site to begin the tour. Participants will paddle approximately 3.5 miles as they watch the spectacular colors of sunset and the beauty of the moon rising over the water. This is a beginner level tour but is double the length of our pervious tours so some endurance is required.
