Your guide to South Florida’s best cheeseburgers
Here’s a handy guide to celebrate National Cheeseburger Day the proper way in South Florida.
Jack’s Old Fashioned Hamburgers
Pompano and Fort Lauderdale, FL
Jack’s always brings back fond memories of our families gathering around the wooden tables enjoying old fashioned burgers while sharing stories and fries. This is the place for us that want a quality but simple cheeseburger. The root beer floats will convert even those, like myself, who stand firmly against anything but cola. You’ve got to try it!
Le Tub Saloon
When I first heard about this place “LeTub”, I had to Google it for the sole purpose of it’s unique name. To my surprise, it was a “saloon”. Immediately, I had to ask…”what in the world is the best cheeseburger doing at a low key saloon?!” Word on the street is this is the spot in Hollywood, FL for good burger and cocktail by the intercostal. This famous sirloin burger was featured on the Oprah Show and voted GQ’s best hamburger. Local tip…you must try this bad boy with seasoned fries.
Charm City Burger Company
Deerfield Beach, FL
A few things to remember when entering the burger mecca. The signature burger is called the “Big Sloppy”, you order this. This burger consists of double meat, double cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, a hash brown, and an egg, with charm sauce drizzle. If this sounds a bit much opt for the “Lil Sloppy”, its the same thing but not doubled up on meat and cheese. Please do order yourself the Blue Bell Milkshake with a side of tater tots for maximum results. #treatyoself
Deerfield Beach, FL
Okay, so…maybe not all the burgers total to 8 pounds of beef but they have an option for those who are up for a food challenge. For a proportioned sized burger I’d opt for the “Cheese & Thank You”. If you’re into bacon try the “Touch of Magic”…we’re not sure what sauce is on it but it’s pretty magical and your taste buds will thank you.
Deerfield Beach and Boca Raton, FL
Need a little comfort food after a rough day…or night? That’s right, Tucker Dukes has a killer burger for brunch, lunch and dinner. If you need to let someone do the ordering for you, just ask for the Tucker Duke burger. Tucker Dukes makes it without alterations…that confidence in their recipe will make sense after you take a bite. Puppies are also welcome to come hang too. Chilling with puppies while eating gourmet burgers? I’m in!
