Three Trophies, One Weekend
“Most recently I competed in the Atlantic Surfing Federation East Coast Championships in Sebastian Inlet, FL. At “ASF” I was stoked to take home 2nd place on the East Coast in both U12 and U 14 divisions. Before that was Surfing America Prime Naggs Head, I had a 3rd place finish in U 14 and made the Quarter finals in U 16. Also made the finals at the New Jersey Prime in the U 14 division. I competed at Surfing America Prime, ESA, NSSA, ASF and other Pro/Am events.”
Sterling’s thoughts on his family’s support:
“My family is the best. We have a lot of fun together. I’m super grateful for my parents for supporting me and I love our adventures together.”
Surfing and Traveling
“I love to travel. I’ve surfed all over Florida, the East Coast: Long Beach, NY, Atlantic City, NJ, and Naggs Head, NC. I have been to Costa Rica 3 times. We surfed all over Costa and got good waves everywhere from Avanellas to Pavones. I LOVE the point break in Pavones, the long lefts are so fun! Last winter I went to Puerto Rico, it was sick. We surfed from San Juan down to Rincon. I got to surf a new wave every day! Last summer, my whole family went to San Clemente, California. It was awesome. I surfed in the VQS Championships with 3 other people in the water at Lowers (Trestles). I also competed at the NSSA National Championships in Huntington Beach where I placed equal 7th. We surfed Lowers and all over Orange County everyday for a month. It was a great trip!”

Whats Next? Goals for 2017?
“There is one more surfing America Prime event coming up in New Smyrna Beach, a bunch of NSSA, ESA and ASF regular season events. NSSA and ESA Regionals in April 2017 are a couple big ones. Then out to Cali for Nationals in June! Add in school and a few pro am events, and comp season is a busy time.”
