Like it or not, skateboarding is coming to Tokyo in 2020. No matter what side of the fence you sit on, we are all wondering who? Many skaters have been very vocal about wanting absolutely no part of the 2020 games. Still, others have said that they are open to the possibility. But this week, Jekem Magazine released a video confirming the first official skater.

Luis Tolentino, has stated that he will be a future Olympian. He will be skating for his home country of the Dominican Republic. Since Luis is one of the nicest guys in the NYC skate scene we know, we couldn’t be happier for him. Congrats Luis!

Skateboarding in Tokyo

As the games get closer, Tokyo will continue to get more hype. We see more and more people talking about this amazing city. So, with the new GoPro 6 in hand, the GoPro skate team headed to the city. Chris Cole, Leticia Bufoni, Andrew Brophy, Sean Malto, and filmer Chris Ray recently pushed through Japan and immerse themselves into the culture with local pro Kota Ikeda.
