If you have a #RadDad or a father figure who has impacted your life, do not forget to tell him what he means to you this Father’s Day.
On Sunday, June 17th we will be celebrating all the men who have invested in our lives. Whether it is a father, a neighbor, a teacher or mentor, we are each thankful for those who encouraged us to keep going, who showed they cared, and who gave us a little push when we needed it most.
We are thankful for all our #RadDads that are part of the Island Water Sports family. We’d love to see a photos and hear why your dad is rad too. Post a comment and a photo for a chance to win a gift certificate for two paddleboard rentals to give that special man who has been like a dad to you.

5. Join Your Dad in Breaking a Guinness World Record
Divers from across the state of Florida and around the world are coming together in an attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the longest human chain underwater. Participating divers will also join forces in an underwater cleanup of the Deerfield Beach Pier. More than 400 divers are expected to take part in the record attempt. All certified divers, whether new to diving or highly experienced, are invited to register as links in the human chain.
All participants will receive a long sleeve UV shirt and a certificate of world record attempt participation. The current record for longest human chain underwater is 308 divers and was achieved in Cesenatico, Italy, in May 2017. Attempting to break this record will literally unify 400 divers and, in doing so, strengthen and support the dive community. The pier, which is normally closed to divers because of fishing and supports an abundance of marine life, will get a cleanup by the participating divers.
